Description (Publisher Website)
Orange Beach, Alabama is a simple town filled with simple people. But like all humans on the planet, the good folks of Orange Beach have their share of problems - marriages teetering on the brink of divorce, young adults giving up on life, business people on the verge of bankruptcy, as well as the many other obstacles that life seems to dish out to the masses.
Fortunately, when things look the darkest - a mysterious man named Jones has a miraculous way of showing up. Jones speaks to that part in everyone that is yearning to understand why things happen and what we can do about it.
Review:
This book is small, but it's mighty. The story of Jones and how he seems to know where to show up and who to talk to is remarkable. You can read this as a straight on nice little story, or you can read between the lines a bit.
These allegorical tales of the people who meet Jones, will have you finding bits and pieces that apply to your life. Jones message is one of "a little perspective," and explains that he has been given a gift of noticing things that others miss. Jones gets people to open up to him almost against their will, as he delves into the heart of their problems. He always has some words of wisdom which fix the problem and then he's gone, and when he turns up again it's like he hasn't aged. Jones manages to change the lives of generations of people in Orange Beach.
This honestly is going to be one of those books that everyone is reading. When you couple the message of the book with The Noticer Project, it makes for a wonderfully dynamic pairing that will have people all over the world participating. This would make an excellent book for small group study as well.
