We all want to lead a life of our own choosing. But in today’s accelerated world, with its competing priorities, information overload, and confounding options, we can easily find ourselves steered by impulse, stress, or expedience. Are our decisions the right ones? Or are we being governed, time and time again, and against our best intentions, by the demands of the moment? With 10-10-10, Welch proposes a transformative solution to deal with this pressure, as she shares her own life-tested strategy to help us regain control of our choices - and reclaim our lives.
I can't tell you how many bad mistakes I've made over the years ( and even if I remembered them I wouldn't tell you ;) How I wish I'd had this book way back when. I might have saved myself some heartache.
According to Suzy, every decision you make boils down to three things: What are the consequences of this decision in 10 minutes? 10 months? or 10 years? This can apply to every area of your life. It is something you can learn and do in just minutes. When someone needs an answer now...it makes it easier to make the correct decision without the guilt.
I particularly loved the way it can be used with your kids. First by employing the 10-10-10 rule it makes it easier to explain decisions to your kids, at the same time by learning the strategy it can help them make better grounded decisions as they grow up.
In the book Suzy gives examples from her life where she's used this process, as well as stories of how others have used it. These examples really help you to understand how to use the 10-10-10 principle in your own life.
This is one of those great books that really packs a punch into how you live and manage your life. This isn't something that might marginally work, it will help you to discover what it really is that you want and whether you're on the right path.
