While we moms tend to think that the problems we encounter as mothers are unique, the fact is that they aren't unique and we can gain a lot of comfort and guidance from the mother's in the Bible. There is a lot of wisdom to gain in the real-life examples in scripture.
In this wonderful reference book, the reader is introduced to ordinary women and mother's who were used as part of God's plan to give guidance through the ages. In the book Macias examines the lives of Eve, Sarah, Hannah, Elizabeth, Salome, Mary, and others. While exploring issues like fear, discontentment, grief, and gratitude, Macias shows us solutions through biblical models of prayer, sacrifice, and faithfulness, ending each chapter with a few questions to help you apply what you've read to your own life.
This book is beautiful to look at first of all, and would make a really excellent gift for the mom's in your life. But if I were you I'd buy a copy for myself too. This book is chock full of inspiration to help you get through those times when you wonder whatever possessed you to have kids! I'd also think that this book would be an excellent bible study for woman's groups.
