Neil Gaiman's "It Was a Dark and Silly Night"

6:00 PM

I ran across this on the New Yorker site today and wanted to share it with everyone. It's a very cool scary video adaptation of author Neil Gaiman's story "It Was A Dark and Silly Night". This video short is animated by New Yorker cartoonist Gahan Wilson and is directed by Steven-Charles Jaffe.

This was posted in the New Yorker to draw attention to a special screening this Friday night at 7pm at the Morgan Library & Museum of "Gahan Wilson: Born Dead, Still Weird". The documentary is directed by Steve-Charles Jaffe, and is about the life and work of the New Yorker cartoonist. Wilson and the director will be on hand for a Q & A after the screening. This is being presented in conjunction with the museum's exhibition "On The Money: Cartoons for The New Yorker"

If you're a fan of Gaiman (Coraline) you'll want to watch this. So gather the kids around the computer, pop some popcorn and then hit play ;)

Every year we lose more people to AIDS. It hasn't disappeared and it's not going away anytime soon. I urge you to seek out and support your local AIDS Organizations. Encourage everyone you know to practice safe sex and to get tested once a year. Even if you don't think you are at risk, get tested. I didn't think I was at risk either, and I almost died before I was diagnosed.
